« I know that each Alliance is unique, and I know that it would be vain and aberrant to want to keep you away from a standardised hypothetical model which would not take into account the infinite diversity of situations, countries, means, men. For me, the Alliances françaises are this diversity, this multitude of actions, of faces. »
Bernard Kouchner, Minister of Foreign Affairs
L’Alliance Française, founded in Paris in 1883, is a non profit association with a network of schools and cultural centres around the world aiming at promoting the knowledge and practice of the French language and its rich culture and sharing it with the local communities.
